VIN locked

O.K. so I'm new to the Mod world and this might be a dumb question but here goes: What does it mean when a tuner said it is VIN locked? And can tuners like superchip be unlocked?

If a tuner is vin locked it means the tuner has downloaded a program on a truck and it needs to download the stock tuning back to the truck before it can be used on anther truck.

I am not sure if they can be unlocked, but VIN lock means once you put it in your vehicle it is locked to that particular truck, in this case, and cannot be moved to antoher to do the same. so most downloaders are VIN locked, so a bunch of people cant go in on one downloader and load all their trucks up. It will only work for one.

In other words the tuner can only program one truck at a time
