Ok guys, I posted in the 6.0 section because I am really considering a 6.0. But heres the deal, I have found a few 97's in the are that need a little loving. I dont mind tackling a project at all and I LOVE that body style of Ford trucks, I have own multiple.

Heres my question, I want a 6.0 or a newer model truck but like I said I also love the body style of the older one. I wouldn't mind tackling a project and making a newly painted and good looking square body either. But im worried the reliability wouldn't be there with an older model, not only for the engine but also for the entire drive train. Im worried that I would have to dump so much money into one that I could just buy a 6.0 or darn near + or - a few grand.

What should I do? Just keep looking for the 6.0 or low mile late model 7.3 I want? or buy a cheaper 97 square body and make it into a new truck.
