Cutting Exhaust Stacks Shorter

I want to cut down my stacks on my truck. I got them put on and they are to tall for me.......I know it was stupid to put them on before looking at there height.

Instead of buying new stacks I want to just cut mine down a few inches. What will be the easiest way to do this?

Plasma cutting, hack saw, saws all? I will sand them after in order to ensure it is good and smooth.

Please no smart a** comments I just want some answers that will help me.

Thank you Jared

3in lift with helper springs, 37in tires, 6637 DIY Intake, SCT 3 tuner looking to get some custom tunes soon, Gauges with edge monitor, 4in turbo back exhaust leading to dual 5in stacks. Next Summer trying to get in head studs and a ZEX dry nitrous kit.

Re: Cutting Exhaust Stacks Shorter

Chop saw is probably the easiest if you have one. Cut it off at the bottom so you don't have to be perfect.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but if you plan on cutting them off while still mounted I don't think you have much of a chance of having them look half decent. I wish you luck, but I agree your best offer removing them and cutting from the bottom. The amount of timeuyour going to waste measuring, cutting, grinding and swearing just to have an uneven or wobbly cut set of stacks will drive you mad in the end.
