Am I the A-hole driving up 7.3 prices????

I had a 2001 F250, CC ,7.3, SRW, XLT, SB, 4x4. It was great, such an amazing truck! I've posted another thread about my search for a another 7.3, where I was surprised to find the prices higher now than I sold my 92k mile truck for 5 years ago( I sold it for 15k in 06'). Recently I thought I would see if I could find a cream puff 7.3, dually, lariat, 4x4, in just the right color: dark blue, highland green, or black. I have seen a couple "cream puffs" come up for sale for 15-20k+ that would fit the bill but I'm just not sure they're worth it when compared to an 08' or up. Are they? what do I do? I have a bad taste in my mouth for 6 liters, and I sort of disowned super-duties because of them ( I had one in a work truck that was nothing but trouble, and I get mad when I think about it). I always sort of associated the 6.4s as being the same sort of thing as a 6 liter but after some reading on the internet I'm just not sure that's fair. However, now I'm reading that the tuners are pretty much outlawed for 6.4s so WTF? I'd love to get an 08' up but I don't want trouble with the truck or availability of performance parts, so what should I do; 6.4 or wait around for a 7.3 cream puff? I feel like I don't have enough info to make an informed decision. Whatever I get it will get the usual mods, as long as I can still get them(tuner)??? Please, for those of you that have had both, what what should I get? Is the 7.3- F series becoming the 65 mustang of our generation?

get a 6.4L and be done with it, the 7.3L was good but is out dated now, you can get a tuner with DPF and EGR delete tunes still and you can always get a tuner for it without those special tunes.. thats my opinion but, maybe some other 6.4 guys will chime in
