just got sct but have a little problem loading

i plug it in and go to tune and select the tune that i wont and press select then i turn the ignition on and it flashes turn ignition on but dont start for a few seconds then says powerup msg timed out

dont i need to sent my strategy to a vendor will it work after i do

Looks like you have an Xcal2. Did you read your strategy and forward it to a tuner to get custom tunes? Only the X3 and the Livewire come with preloaded tunes.

I see it is a XCal 2, just contact a tuner with your strategy, and they take care of ya! Did you buy it new or second hand? New, you have to have files written for your truck. Second hand, it might need to be "unlocked" and you would still need files written for your truck.

which model did you buy?? the 9400 or the 9415?? if you bought the 9400, then you need to find your strategy, then send the code to your tuner via email, then usually with in an hour or so they will have your files ready and emailed back to you. then you can load them to your SCT and away you go! the 9415 has preloaded tunes already on them and should be ready to go as soon as you get it.

Thanks for pointing that out Rob. I always forget that they had a XCal2 with preloads. I am just so used to custom files I forget about the canned tunes!
