new truck maybe

Ok, i think i finally got my dad talked in to a "new" truck. maybe. a '96 2 or 350 psd 5 speed super cab 4X4 120,00 miles w/one stack and goose neck hitch with "notched" tailgate. The stack makes me nervous. Im pretty sure it's been chipped or tuned. we're going to go look at it closer tomorrow night but want to know what to look at on the obs truck's. dad say's it's in real good shape with no rust that he could see. I might run out there in a minute and peek at it. oh, $9,900. sound's kinda cheap. maybe some thing wrong? i just don't want it to nickel and dime them to death because the can't afford to put alot of money in to a truck right now. let me know what you guy's think.

i just went and checked it out. the stack job is enough to put the biggest redneck to shame. they cut the pipe just behind the door an ran the pipe under the cab, under the frame rail and to the stack. what did they use to achive this redneck engineering marvel?? why it was good ole flex pipe!! it's in REAL good shape for what i could see at 10:30pm. one big dent just under the drivers side tail light. and the area under the "4X4" sticker is kinda dented in. i could only tell it from the way the loight hit it an angle. no rust thou. the window's were to dark to see in so i dont about the int. were going to go check it out in the datlight tommorrow after work and maybe drive it :drive: :burnout

Never buy a vehicle at night or in bad weather. Hides everything. Definitely test it/look at it in daylight, no rain.

I believe it was the 96s that had a week tranny. Ok if you didn't drive it hard but as far a towing or workin it, the tranny would fail sooner than one would like.

alright just drove it. it's going to need a clutch. you can hear something rattle in nuetral. and when it's in gear. but when you let the clutch drag it stop's. throw out bearing? it's also chiped. i saw the little knob. and it smoked out the car behind me when i missed 3rd and hit OD instead. The power it has is mind blowing!! couldnt believe how fast it was. oh, also has trouble going in gear sometimes witch i believe it also the clutch. and the glow plug light doesnt work. probably the bulb. i had to count to 15 to start it. so is it worht 10g?? i'd buy it n a heart beat i'm known to do stupid stuff at a moment's notice.
