What to buy

Hello
Looking a buying new to me truck and I am down to two almost identical one.
Problem is I am torn between them
0ne is a 2000 f250 crew cab lariat 7.3 pretty much stock 204000 miles one owner super maintenance records

The other is a 2004 250 crew cab lariat 6.0 174000 miles lots of mods air box, exhaust, intake...but no records 3 owners....

04 is 13000
00 is 8000

Problem is heard nothing good about the 6.0 are they really that bad.

Loved my last7.3

Any advice.

If you are the type who goes by what other people say , you should go for the 7.3L. IMO no one can guaranty ANYTHING on either truck. I just wonder why the 04 is priced so high, 13K for that? Im sure You can do better esp. since you paying cash. Its the only time you can kill without a gun.

I would agree that the 04 is overpriced. If i were serious about the 6.0 buy a scangauge or edge cts, take it with you on your test drive and monitor the ect and eot deltas. If it were me I would steer clear of any modded 6.0, especially without any records. Either one have an oasis report done before considering either truck.

Forgot to mention the 04 is an FX4 and the 00 is 4x4 off road
What would be a fair price for the 04.?

auction price on the 04 is 9K-10K all day long. Since you buying from a private party 11K max would be fair. Dont let any body BS with KBB or NADA book values. They mean sh!t. The value of ANYTHING for sale is determined by You the Buyer.Esp. if You buy it outright.

I would go with the 7.3L unless you can find an 05 and up 6.0L......IMO
