starter solenoid-please help

ok hi. im working on a friends 95 ford f-250 turbo diesel. he replaced the positive battery cable. now vehicle does nothing at all. no lights. no power to ANYTHING. NOTHING COMES ON OR WORKS. now im involved. i think the wires on the fender mounted solenoid/relay are wrong. i accidentally crossed the two terminals and it turned over. the wiring diagram is confusing to me. so here is how its hooked up now.

*(post furthest from firewall)-
1.(thick black wire with thin orange stripe that goes to the area of the intake and is not visible because of plastic cover.
2.(thick black wire with think orange strip to altenator)
(also has thin yellow wire that looks like it goes to voltage regulator)
3.(positive wire from battery)

*(post closer to firewall)
1. (big yellow wire that runs under battery and across front of vehicle)
2. (small red wire to starter)
