No start problems catching....
Got a call from my pop about his truck (97 f150) not starting. The engine was spinning over slowly. I asked about the age of the battery...7 yrs old at least, and told him I'd come look at it, but more than likely it was the battery, pretty cold here last nite 19 degrees. Went and picked pops up, and had to jump his truck off. I followed him to Autozone, and had the battery tested. As expected, the battery needed to be replaced. I went to start my truck (96 f250), as pops happly drove away, and it wasent gonna cooperate. I checked everything, eventually, called a freind for some tools. I pulled the starter off, and had it checked...it was ok. After laying on the cold concrete, 33 degrees and the wind blowing...pulling and reinstalling the starter... happened to see a spark from the starter while my friend turned the key. The small nut directly accross from the big positive post (theres a metal jumper that connects them) was loose, causing all the problems. I called pops, after everything was up and running, and told him I wouldnt ever park near him again....his no start problems were contagious!
