Aftermarket wheels: dissappointed

Anybody else here have aftermarket wheels that they are dissappointed in? I bought a set of Diamo wheels at Discount tire last year and within 3 months they were pitting through the chrome. Had them swapped out with some new identical ones and they did it again. I've decided to get away from the chrome wheels and go with a machined/clearcoated finish with powdercoated backs. Discount was extremely good about holding up their end of the warranty. They asked a few questions, looked at the wheels to make sure I didn't abuse or damage them from using something that wasn't supposed to be used to clean them with, and ordered me a new set of wheels both times. No arguing at all, which I almost expected to have. So Kudos to Discount

Not happy about Diamo though

I took the wheels to a chroming shop and the guy showed me how thin/cheap the chrome was. He also said chrome on aluminum will eventually fail but, a good set should last years before they looked like mine did. A couple of crappy pics and a little write up to keep you guys informed because money doesn't grow on trees. At least not on my trees.

Not disappointed with my wheels at all, but I went with MotoMetal 950's. Sorry to hear about it, Terry. Do you have pics of the new rims you are looking at?

I went with these. \/ I wanted some Weld forged aluminum in the same 18x10 but, it's not a size Weld usually produces. They said if I prepaid and ordered some, they could make them..... in about 6 months to a year. Besides, these are cleared and I should be able to just wipe them clean for upkeep, with an occaisional wax application. They definately aren't as flashy as what I had or the Welds but, I think the anthracite accents should go well with my grey truck.

Man, I can't wait to see those mounted up. Those should look bad azz!!! So I'm assuming that Discount was able to work out a deal so that you didn't have to pay out of pocket?

i love my wheels. i dont love my tire and wheel dealer though. they have people working there that dont know what they are doing and they ended up damaging my last set so i had them replace them after the manager decided to call me a liar and throw a set of lug nuts at my wheels and cause more damage. what an idiot he is.....
