Virus in updated program from Ford

I just called my service rep and was told the problems with my '04 6.0 appears to be caused by a virus in the program they downloaded from Ford and put in my truck a few weeks back. He said a number of vehicles had been affected. Anyone else heard anything????

I just picked up my 04 F-350 from Bowen Scarff in Kent, WA and haven't seen any symptoms as they reprogrammed for tires size etc.. (seems off more now). Are their symptoms of this? Did they call you to tell you about this? Does it cause a leaky tailpipe or a rash on your heads?

Could of been on the dealer's side. Although they won't admit it.

Well that story about the virus was the word when I called in the early afternoon. I was assured it would be ready in a couple of hours. I showed up at 5:00. The Service Rep called back to the mechanic, who said he had the EGR valve out at the time, but couldn't tell what had been causing my trouble. The symptoms were rough running. No response on throttle sometimes. Started running very rough at stop light and died. So I don't know what truth there is to the virus report.
