Re: Fram oil filters have changed.

Seen this myself the other week. Took both the tough guard and standard fram out the box to compare and saw zero difference. Think some of the numbers on the bottom were different but the patent number was the same. Didn't compare to so motorcraft as wal mart didn't have one. Not sure what the difference could be.

powerstrokecrzy ,i know with the 6.4 , it is so criticial to use the stock filter , do to the design that it locks into the cap and allows for the oil spring to function prorerly

I realize this as is the same with the 6.0. I was just curious in what the real difference between fram's tough guard and the standard filter is. The design looks exactly the same and although I didn't compare them side by side I usually use motorcraft and didn't notice any difference.
