Releasing boost at WOT, cutting into acceleration

It will do it when i'm trying to get on the highway. Its not when the tranny is shifting, its in between shifts. Also does it going down the highway @ about 70, and I try to speed up. The rpms will hit about 2500 it will release boost every 3 to 4 seconds.

Explain what you mean by releasing boost. What sounds is it making, do you have a boost gauge in your truck, is there a loss in power? We need more details.

You hear the whoosh sound,(the give it full throttle and then let of the pedal whoosh sha sha) followed by a loss in power. No boost gauge. Getting on the highway and accelerating for 3-4 seconds then whoosh, then accelerating 3-4 seconds then whoosh. I really dont know how to explain it any better than that

sounds like my truck, I have peged it at turbo surge...

When it does the whoosh, are you still in the throttle full...or do you spike the throttle, and then back out real fast, and then it does the whoosh whoosh whoosh?

It is doing it during full throttle
