7.3 block heater problems
I'm having a problem with my block heater. It doesnt seem to work. Apparently there is the heating element and the cord. I see the element where it goes in the block above the oil filter, but my question is, "do i have to drain the oil before i can change the element? I have a 96 powerstroke 7.3

No the element goes into the coolant. When you pull it out some coolant will come out.
