Thoughts on Warranty

What are y'alls thoughts on extended warranties? I'm coming up on my 36K here pretty quick and am getting ready to take her in for a couple very minor things. I need new badges due to that paint flaking issue, I have a little rattle inside one of my rear doors like something is loose and I need to get that emission/overflow sticker recall done. Other than that the ONLY problem I've EVER had with her was an issue with one of my auto-locking hubs not auto-unlocking itself, that they fixed shortly after I bought her.
SO - that being said, is it really worth extending the bumper to bumper warranty out to 3yr/100K, or should I just accept that she's a rock solid beast and use the cash for more mods?

I didn't buy an extended one and now I am paying for transmission issues that would have been covered if I had, not sure if it is worth it or not but you just never know!??!! Of course if I drove a little slower maybe I wouldn't be fixing this!!

Yeah I have the same lead foot problem, so the tranny is the one thing that really has me concerned.

i think the biggest factor is cost. Weighing weather the cost of it is worth the major repair you may have. If the warranty is 3500, its not worth it IMO because the difference between that and the price of a new tranny for example isnt very big...

I think the quote was right at 2K - shoot ac going out will cost ya a grand every time. It's one of those where I know if I do get it nothing will go wrong but if I don't my tranny will spontaneously combust at 36,001.....

mine had 58g on it when i got it and the dealer offered me an extended warranty over what they normaly warrant a used vehicle for. dont remember how much it cost or how long it was for. any how it's never been in there for any thing but a tranny flush which i had to pay for. i dont think youll need it.

was this a ford ESP or an aftermarket warranty?? thats another HUGE difference. I would never trust an aftermarket warranty.

I don't believe it was the big one - I think it was one step down. It had the $100 deductible.
