Needing input

I don't know how it is where you guys and gals are, but here in Ohio if you want an engine built, you'd better have a Cummins or you ain't gonna find a good diesel shop to work on it. Enterprise Engine Performance will only work on Cummins, but if you have a Powerstroke, they will send you to Unlimited Diesel. No big deal, except I was at a pull on 7/23 where 2 of their trucks pulled. NOT impressed at all. Both sounded like 6.9's, and pulled the same way. I think I'm gonna check into opening my own shop. I have talked to a couple of friends who are into it. One is a fuel system guy/cert. welder, one was a mechanic at EEP, and the other has a degree in Marketing. What do you think, good idea or keep it closed?

I say go for it! Be smart and have a plan and always remember why you started the business in the first place!

Life is too short!

We just got done writing the business plan out for the bank. I have lined up 2 trucks for testing parts on, mine and a twin turbo-ed 12 valve pulling truck. Hopefully, we'll be up and running soon. I can't wait to see if this first "plumbing nightmare" works. If it does, it will blow your mind.

Good luck man! I've been slowly growing over the past couple years, but no shop of my own yet.

Thanks Nate. Our biggest down fall is if we get the shop we are looking at, we won't really have room for many parts. Hopefully in 12 mos. or so, we will have a bigger shop. Yeah Bill, it was pretty fast! I really want it to be up and going now, but I can wait for it to happen.
