obs 7.3 crew 4x4 .. was thinking of tradeing it for a superduty crew 4x4 v10
do you guys think it would be a good trade..
i have a 94.5 powerstroke cclb 5spd 4x4 .. 6in lift 37s was kicking around tradeing for a 99 superduty v10 cclb 4x4 auto my truck is in need of some fuel system work.. it runs ok but get bad mpg and lacks power. still a daily driver as is thow.. look forward to ur responces.. |

Why not a diesel? The V10 will suck down gas like no tomorrow.

my truck needs work and i dont have the cash..
when i pull my 10k toyhauler over our mountain pass i only can do 25mph.. and i get about 7mpg |

If you take off the 37's, you'll get much better mpg. And btw, the V10 will tow about the same and get around the same mileage or worse.

im just putting it out there for input.. even my old 460 with 38s got 8mpg and pulled mountain passes at 55 loaded the same..
got a few ppl in my family that have the v10s and love em.. |

Oh the V10 is a great motor, it just won't give you the mileage or power gains you're expecting. It will still pull that camper well though

so u dont think ill do better than 25mph and 7mpg over a pass?

Here's the specs:
1994.5 7.3 Powerstroke= 215 horsepower and 450 ft/lbs torque 1999 6.8 V10= 265 horsepower and 405 ft/lbs torque So the V10 has the horsepower advantage but the diesel has the torque advantage. My guess is they'd tow about the same. |

So keep your truck and fix it instead of getting the v10. You'll be happy in the long run.
