2004 6.0 Diesel Excursion No Power
Hello,
We just purchased a 2004 6.o diesel excursion with 115,000 miles on it. For the last 2 weeks, it has ran great. This morning while driving to work, I heard a '"pop" and the the truck lost power. It will not go faster than 45 mph and it doesn't seem like it will shift out of 3rd gear...won't go past 2600rpm. It still runs smooth and sounds normal. It just doesn't have any power and will not shift into high gear...... any thoughts? Thanks |

I do not believe so.... it doesn't kick in when I press the accellerator. I doesn't have any power like before.

If its what I think it is: pop the hood and look at your turbo, there's a wire that plugs into the side facing the front passenger tire. Make sure that its connected, mine wasn't holding I had to zip tie it in place until I was able to get a new one.

OP:
If it was a loud 'Pow!' and hiss, then no power, your CAC tube is likely to have popped off the turbo or intercooler. If the band clamp broke, you'll need to get a new clamp from NAPA (an ordinary hose clamp will NOT hold). |

He had another thread on this. It's fixed. Told him to check all his intercooler boots. Ended up being the one under the air filter.

^ nods... I'm a (very) occasional visitor here.
Got a question on this forum's etiquette - I had a really positive experience with a vendor today for a 6.0-related product (which is why I was visiting). You all OK with an unsolicited-testimonial type of thread? FWIW, the vendor was a tooling vendor, called because he had bad weather in Iowa today and couldn't ship an item as fast as his advertising said he would. He's shipping 2nd day air instead, when his roads are plowed in the morning. Thought that might be worthy of a 'atta-boy'. OK to post, do you think? |
