Newbie Question: What To Buy?

I am looking for advice on buying a F350 Crew Cab. Planning to put a pop-up truck camper in the bed and would like to be able to tow a 4000lb trailer boat with four folks in the cab.

I am trying to downsize my current fleet of vehicles (Ford Ranger - Daily Driver, Ford Excursion – Tow Vehicle, Class C RV) to one to reduce insurance and maintenance costs.

I’m looking to spend $14-15k. Is it feasible to get a good truck in this range? What should I be looking for or looking out for?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

If I were you I'd find a nice clean OBS. That way you could have a good reliable truck and have money left over for any mods you want to do.

If I was in your shoes I would be looking for a clean one owner 99-2003 7.3L powerstroke with around 100k miles.

The other choice would be a 2003-whenever 6.0L that someone has already "bulletproofed"

If you are not sure what I mean by this, read up real good before buyin a diesel. The 6.0 can be a great motor if you know what to watch for. While the 7.3 is the most reliable diesel in our trucks bar none.
