Torn, 2010 6.4 or 2012 6.7?
I am looking to pick up a PSD and I was dead set on a 6.4L until I found out how cheap the new 2012's are going for.
Right now I am looking at a 2010 F350 Lariat 4x4 with pretty much all options except for navigation and rear entertainment for $39,000 with 30,000 miles. I will be towing with it as well as using it as my daily driver. I am not one to keep things stock and I would be doing a DPF delete and tune as quick as I can get an exhaust system shipped up here to AK. Then I noticed I can get a brand new 2012 F250 6.7 Lariat for $46,000. So not much more then the 2010, but much newer and a better tranny. However it doesn't have anywhere near the power potential. Both these trucks are in the lower 48 so I'll be flying down and driving it up. What do you guys think? I think I will be happier with the 6.4 after tuning, but it's hard to justify it with them being so close in price. |

Depends if you want it for power or mileage. I love my 6.4 and the power makes me smile every day, but I think the general consensus is the 6.7 will get much better mileage all the time. But be careful with the 6.7, I think they get dangerous about about 500HP...

If I was in you place I would get the 2012 6.7 .
Because it is 2 years newer and also has 0 miles so uk everything that has happened to the truck because you are the original owner. Just my .02 Sent from my iPhone using Autoguide.com Free App |

Well I jumped on the 6.4L Smaller payments means more mod money
![]() Can't wait to fly down to grab it. Picking it up in Salt Lake City, anyone know of a good diesel performance shop I can grab a DP back exhaust and H&S tuner from there? I am going to keep it stock until I get it back up here, but if I can pick up the parts down there it will save me shipping $$$. |
