Tuner question

Some Tuners claim to delete the EGR electronically. Does this completely shut down the flow through the EGR like a manual bypass would if you did a delete? Or would it be best to go in and actually do a delete for safety reasons? I have an 08 F250. Thanks

A tuner will not stop flow through the EGR cooler. Only removal or a block-off will do that. The tuner will trick the computer into thinking the lack of EGR flow is ok so it won't throw a code.

Some tuners stop the EGR from opening the exhaust ports. Still allows water to flow, but now it doesn't get as hot.
