Interesting article. One issue I noticed in their tests though. The 15W 40 was a mineral based oil where the 10W 30 was a high grade partial synthetic. They attribute the increase in fuel mileage to using the 10W 30, my question is how much of that was from using a high grade partial synthetic oil vs a mineral based oil. It may have skewed their results some. To see the true effects of the grade change they should have used equal blends and qualities.

To me its just another advertisment by a manufacturer... I have used Total oil in my Jetta Tdi with no issues.
