Step tailgate stolen in Dallas

I woke to this last week. Stole my tailgate and tool box. Some people need to get a life.

Bad deal, hope you have good insurance. I see tailgates all the time on craigslist, its frustrating. I make sure I have something unique on my tailgate. (Random numbers stamped somewhere inconspicuous, etc etc) Also they can easily pop the locks on our tailgates, Jimmy Jammer actually makes a kit for our tailgates locks. And no I'm not talking about their hinge lock, I would use both. They are easy to steal and bring a good price on craigslist.

Sorry about your truck man. Makes me glad mine is easy to spot if someone steals it. But I also keep the tonneau and tailgate locked to make it that much harder.

Ouch, that sucks. Hopefully no other damage was done.

To answer this question, I am not sure. I was sooo tired that night and I am not surprised if forgot to do that. It is still not an excuse for someone to steal my tailgate.

44magnum, I will definitely put a Jimmy Jammer or some other secondary tailgate lock for it when I get my next one.

Thanks for all your comments.

I must have been lucky, a few months ago I found my tailgate handle popped out a few inches like someone was prying on it while it was locked. Keeping my fingers crossed no one touches my 08 tailgate.

Mounted CS/Pepper grenade, a bit of fishing line, and a disable pin that only you know about? Game camera? Both (might get a good laugh)?
