Question Important cruise control question. Please help

I have a very important question. I know on my f250 along with every other vehicle I've ever driven that when your using cruise control and you start down a hill the throttle backs off so you don't start to go past the original speed that you set to begin with. My big question are all cars supposed to do that or will some just hold the throttle and start to speed up dramatically. If anyone could help me out ied be very greatful. Thank you very much

most new vehicles will downshift to try to control excess speed, older ones just reduced throttle to idle, however if that wasn't enough engine braking to hold speed, speed would increase until you braked. i would guess that throttle is backing off but you just don't have the engine braking to hold it on the hill.

I think the OP was thinking that the vehicle just kept throttling down the hill even if it got way over the speed it was set at.

Yah. That's why I agreed with that previous explanation. Our trucks will just throttle down, down the hill, letting momentum pick up speed needing to ride the brakes. With this sometimes I will put it in tow/haul to take advantage of engine braking haha
