Aftermarket Turbos

I was wondering what options I have for aftermarker turbos for my 96 I want to get some more power out of her

Im running one of those turbo setups, only difference in mine is that ive had my turbo modified to flow more air. You WILL need injectors to even think about spooling this turbo. I ran this turbo and stage 2 injectors w/o a chip and it didnt spool at all. Stage 1 injectors are the very smallest injector taht will get that baby spooled and even then its gonna take a pretty hot program.

Honestly i think as long as you add a large intercooler the stock turbo is adequate with any injector upto stage 2's. I ran bdp stage 2 injectors, 6oh intercooler and stock turbo for quite some time and never had egt troubles (IIRC i dynoed almost 430 rwhp on stock turbo). My max boost was 33 psi and just a very slight haze of smoke, now if i lugged the engine i could fog 2 lanes of traffic pretty good.

so what all did you have done when you dynoed at 430 because thats where I would like to get mine
Where did you get your intercooler

i had beans diesel performance stage 2 injectors (link in sig), tony wildman custom tuning (link in sig), 6oh psd intercooler. I later added the h2e turbo and bdp fuel system and actually lost hp on the dyno , BUT the hp curve was flat as could be and the truck was faster at the strip.

I was wanting some more power myself and was thinking of some new injectors. I think the O rings in my stroke are having some issues. If I went with some stage 1 injectors what else will I have to do to my truck to handle the new injectors and what can I expect to lose for gas mileage. thanks.

you will need some tranny upgrades to hold stage 1's. as for fuel mileage it shouldnt change unless you have your foot in it alot.

Thanks, My tranny is 5000 miles new but it was bought from Ford, When you say I need some tranny mods, what should I buy? just a new torque converter?
