which stock diesel would you choose?

between Ford/Dodge/Chevy, which STOCK Diesel engine would choose??? oh, money is not an object when choosing. be specific when responding, especially with the Cummins. (ya know 12v or 24v 1st gen 2nd gen etc etc etc)

my first choice: mid 90's 7.3 PSD (the non-intercooled)
second choice: '03 7.3
third: 7.3 IDI

Depends on what you are looking for. It would either be a 7.3, I like the ones with the ICs, or a 12v Cummins with a 6 spd behind it.

After much research and all I would still have to say a 6.0 with the torqueshift. Regardless of the problems. Once they are fixed if they ever show up these prove to be some of the strongest most dependable trucks and they are by far the best looking and most comfortable.

Well, I have an 04 6.0 and had minor problems, but I love it and would buy it again over the others. My second choice would be an LB7 or LBZ.

I'd take the 7.3L PSD first. It's PROVEN, strong, and takes mods pretty well. Will last forever.

I'd take the 12V or 24V Cummins 2nd. If I were to build something quick and strong....it would have a Cummins in it..(If I weren't a Ford Nut!)

3RD...would be a LB(whatever) Duramax. For an all out race truck...looks like the Dura-Craps are the trucks to get. EFI Live is a great resource to have in your bag.

First choice would be the 6.0. Second choice would be a 12V Cummins.

I love my early 99 with the 7.3. I plan on keeping it for another 10 years.
