new here :) 07 F350 ordering options? WTF?

Ive been looking into a new truck for the end of 2006. The 07 Superdutys are on lots already. Im specific about what i want, and what ive seen on the road, ebay, internet etc.

Ive SEEN 20" polished wheels, with two tone paint options AND the fender Lips are painted the same lower color, "tan" with FX4 4x4.

On fords site. www.commtruck.ford.com when i select the lower accent two tone paint, it deselects 20" wheels and goes to 18"s? WTF is going on?

It also unselects the Lariat highline package. Im looking for just an XLT probably, will take a lariat if i need to. I also use it for work so i dont want leather but seems MOST XLTs on lots have leather and all Lariats do already. When ordering a beepbeepbeepbeep near 50k truck can i tell them exactly what i want?

It also in the f250s on fords site shows that ONLY 4 door crew cabs can get 20" wheels?

Extended Cab not 4 doors
no-chrome package
Extendable tow mirrors
5 speed Torqueshift trans
6.0L Diesel engine package
Upfitter switches
Lower accent paint "tan"
either a darker Blue or any Red color Main truck color

Extra heavy duty 140amp alternator
"cloth" if possible tan or dark grey "flint" captains chairs with seperate center

20" polished forged aluminum wheels, dont care what tires, ill change later
3.73 axle ratio

All that with lariat package is like $49,000. I see ones from Ford dealers on ebay for $41,999 that are basically this SAME setup but 4 doors adding $1k to the price and $500 chrome pacakges, have the 20" wheels and 2 tone etc, sunroof $1k. Can you get 7-9k off sticker these days? I currently own a 91 F150 with 186k 5.0L thats still going strong, just isnt great at pulling a 24' enclosed trailer around.

call the dealer-
i would ask for the gm and breif him, and he should be able to put you thru to the right sales person who knows what to do. most sales people will know less about the truck than you do, so the key is get to someone who knows whats up instead of waisting your time.

thanks guys. The 07s on the lots currently arnt the same as the 05/06s possibly with just less problems hopefully? :p I saw a couple f250 07s yesterday with the 6.0 in it. Are these 07 emissions compliant already meaning they have all this restrictive exhuast stuff on them?

Welcome to the Forum......

I beleave the new emmissions standards the 6.4 is going to meet take effect in 2010.......so the 6.0 in the 07's your looking at are the same as the 05/06 engine.......

As far as the truck, if the exterior pinstripe was removed, i LOVE the seats and interior in the new "lariet outlaw"......u might want to take a look at it......

Other than a price hike, what benefits are there besides design style to the 2008 model with the 6.4? Is it worth waiting for that and all of the emissions restrictions with them? I plan to just put an intake, turbo back exhuast and maybe a basic bully dog tuner on it for a little more jump eventually.

Id rather not wait through early 07 to pickup a truck more expensive, harder to get a hold of that has more restrictions or less/same power and an un-proven engine if the 07s are fine.

Rumor has it the electronics on the 6.4 will be encrypted, which means it will take the aftermarket longer to figure out chipping them....i think if i was you i would get the 07 6.0.......
