Electonic Control Module for 4x4

took my truck into ford about my 4x4 problem and according to their computer I have electrical problems. I switched out the switch on the dashboard for the electronic shift on the fly and the problem persisted. Now they have recommended that I replace the electronic control module underneath the dash.

The part at FORD was $544. Anyone know if there is an aftermarket module?

What was your problem? My 4x4 quit working and it was the transfer case motor. Replaced it myself for $140, was pretty easy.

I turn the switch and nothing. No clicking, nothing. there is not power to the switch.

Wow check around my 4X4 controle module went out on my Explorer and it was like $180 from a local parts store. On the explorer it was made by motorola. Might even be worth checking a junk yard.
