egr?

What is an egr valve and what does it do why is it there and what are the pros and cons of deleeting it what happens when u delete it? I've read and read and it seems people ask these same questions but there are never any clear answers to them

Exhaust gas regulator. All it does is circulate water to cool your EGT.( exhaust gas temperature) I deleted mine and don't see a difference in it. It adds no power but the pro is the EGR valve is notorious for goin out and when it does your stranded! Plus deleting it will cause your service engine light to come on unless u have it tuned. That's about as much as I know
