99 transmission problem o/d

I have a 99 F250 7.3L. I came off the freeway today and used my o/d button to assist in slowing down. When I cam up to the stop sign, I turned o/d back on and when I proceed to take off from the stop sign, the truck wouldn't go. It was like it was in neutral. I tried all gears, nothing. I finally turned the truck off, restarted it, and then it worked okay. Is this an electrical gremlin? Anyone know what could be the cause? I'm hoping it doesn't become a regular problem!!
