wth is this?

Had some blower motor issues and went to replace the resistor. Only problem is what they gave me at the parts store doesn't match what came out. What I got at the store has a four wire plug in and 3 little exposed springs.....which from what I have read, is correct. The piece that came out of the truck has big silver fins on it, a five wire plug in, and is at least twice as big as what they gave me. I would post a pic, but it said "uploads disabled".
I went and popped the hood on my other excursion and its the same thing ?? Anybody has an idea of what is going on please fill me in. Thanks

This is what I have. Sounds like they gave you the wrong resistor block.

They gave me what is pictured on your truck. That, however, is not what came off of my truck.

OK hope the link Works
Piece on the left is what I got for a replacement at parts store. Piece on right is what came out of my truck, and what is in my 03 7.3 as well.

Take it to the parts store and have them match it up maybe.

Ok figured it out. If your truck came equipped with automatic climate control, it requires a blower motor control module and not a resistor. It is a dealer only item.
