Glow plug question
I have a 99 F350. Mfg in 12/98 200K still running strong. My check engine light is on and the codes refer to the glow plugs not working well. I replaced them with NAPA parts @ $10 each. The dealership wants $25 each. Light did not go out. I replaced the relay. Still light persists. The wiring harness/gasket looks in good shape. As cooler weather is begining to set in the engine does work a little harder to get started.
I was thinking perhaps I should have gotten the more expensive glow plugs from Ford. Do you think this would make the light go out? Do they draw more amps than the aftermarket parts? Thanks |

PLEASE tell me you did not buy autolite glow plugs, if you did you are risking your motor, they can blow up and get stuck in the head, its bad bad news..
That being said you can buy motorcraft/beru(Same) online for much cheaper.. |

Yup Autolites from NAPA. I will look into buying Ford online. Thanks
What do you mean they blow up? From glowing or from the combustion process? |
