I'm really curious to see what others are doing. Does your truck come with a stock EGT gauge? Did you install one yourself? If so, where did you plug the probe in? What do you consider a safe range? I'm really interested in what other people are doing with this.
Thanks, |

Well here are my gauges - I've been VERY happy with them. My EGT I drilled and tapped into the exhaust manifold. That went over well with the wife on a month old truck! :p As a norm with my cruise set around 80, my EGT's run at 800, Turbo at 8psi and my tranny temp at 170. I generally leave my Predator in 65 mode and when I REALLY get on it, it gets in the yellow for a sec but that's about it. In 100 mode I think I was CLOSE to red while doing a burnout.....hey I had to try it once!

Something is messed up with propichosting.com site - the links to my pictures keep changing........seems their beta site and their production site are cross referencing picture ID #'s. I'll repost my gauge pictures when I get home this afternoon. Thought I'd lost my mind for a minute there.

What kind of pictures do you want to host? I would consider putting a gallery on this site for people to just upload pictures to, but then I wouldnt want people to stop using the garage. I have used galleries and the garage, and I like the garage better. If you have any ideas for picture hosting, I might be open to it. Lem |

I found the best deal at shop diesel.com. They are isspro black face and I got the package of pillar and gauges for $215.00. To comment on the thermocouple location, In the 60's all were installed in the manifold. Now all are mounted in the down pipe. I've been around the downpipe mount for so long now, it is my location of choise. It is a easy way to mount it. The maximum temp is different but once you get used to what your looking at it doesn't matter. The gauges are marked for the downpipe install. The only reason for the manifold mount is for catching a exhaust leak or turbo failure. If you know your engine, you will see the lower boost pressure but not the true exhaust temp if you have the downpipe location. Bill
