1999 F250 Powerstroke Questions

Hey folks,
Just recently purchased a used 1999 Ford F250 Powerstroke and since this is my 1st diesel I wanted to get some opinions on what needs to get looked into. This truck was my gran-dad's pickup and I recently purchased it from my grandmother.

Quick Run down on the trucks history:
  • It has 125k for mileage
  • Motor is a turbo 7.3 liter V8
  • 4x4 was rarely used
  • The truck has not been used to tow much except for maybe 6x
  • The motor is pretty loud compared to new diesels I've heard

I'm looking to see if there is any known issues with these trucks specificc to model/motor and since the truck is in really good shape I just want to get some ideas of what too look out for. Any advice would be much appreciated.

lol louder.. thats a given.

Anyway aint nothin wrong with loud thats for sure.

If it was well taken care of it should be in great shape, theres plenty of simple things you can do to make it run better n smoother..

DIY intake
exhaust(get rid of dumb pos factory muffler, restrictive)
gauges
chip

Simple and it'll wake her up.. theres many small mods you can do too, too many to list for me im goin to bed. Welcome to the .org!
