Smoke Stacks

First off I just want to say that I am a fan of stacks I think they look good on some trucks, some of the members here have trucks that look great with them; Now with that said, what is the deal with overly large stacks?
For instance, while sitting in traffic(35mph) yesterday, I saw and 08-10 F250 with 12" stacks in the bed, I just dont understand the need for that. I mean the truck was mildly lifted and had some blacked out rims, but the stacks just seemed too much. 8" stacks would've been fine, I've seen 10" stacks on a Semi, and those seemed big, the 12s IMO don't belong in the bed of a pickup.

I'm not trying to pick a fight here, just want some opinions on the subject, and to see if anyone has them, and why they decided on them instead of 8s or 10s.

James.

For me, it's like anything else that people could do to a truck. There are some mods that are done right, consequently, look great. OTOH, there are mods that are just done.....and, look...um...well...not so good.

To me, Stacks are one of those mods that belong on other people's trucks. Some look really great, some... , but 12"??? Way out of proportion....IMO, of course.

Steve nice truck standard cabs are sweet. But if you can drop a basketball in your stack there's a problem

Well I thought 12s were bad, but there appears to be something even more over the top than them; Youtube has a video of 24" stacks on a lifted Stroker just driving down the rd, and it has evidence that he has been smoking pretty good.
