Headlight High Low and Upgrade Wiring - How To
Allright guys, I just upgraded my headlights to all HID and wanted to make sure the ballasts were getting all the Juice they needed, and also to allow my low beams to stay on with the highbeams without melting my harness. Poor voltage at the bulb can drop output by 30% or more. So I did a little schematic to show you what I did. Yes I know there are otherways to to this, But I like designing and building things so WTH, Here goes...
Parts: 3, 4 pin Bosch 30 Automotive relays (5 pins will work too, dont use 87a) 14 Guage Primary wire (2 colors, 10 ft of each should be plenty) assorted Connectors: 14 Guage Female Wire Connectors 14 Guage Male Wire Connectors 14 Guage Battery Terminal Connectors(for Battery and Ground Connections) 3" piece 3M VHB double stick tape (for attaching relays anywhere you want, I used the battery box) Tools: Wire Stripper Crimp tool Wire Cutters Wire according to the attached schematic and VIOLA! 30% increase in brightness, happy HID ballasts, and high and low simultaneousely!
