oil leak

Forgive me if this has been adressed bofore. New to this org and I didn't come up with much on my search. I have a 99 7.3 and I have oil leaking somewhere up top. It is in the valley behind the fuel bowl and toward back of the engine where it runs down the passenger side. I have washed it down but I can not see where it is leaking. It has gotten worse as time goes on. Has anyone that knows more than me got any experience or idea where it may be coming from? I hate to just tear into it blind! Thanks in advance for any advice.

There are a bunch of places for oil to leak up there.

The HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump) has an oil line going from it to either head. There is also a 'non-serviceable' plug in the HPOP that can leak. (There are fix-it kits to service the non-servicable). The IPR is also sealed by an oring at the back of the HPOP. The mounting gasket of the pump can leak, and in rare cases the rear-plate can leak.

The pump sits kind of under the fuel bowl.

You can fix just about any oil leak with parts found here...

Good luck!

pump fitting o-rings leak a lot. as said previously there's a non-servicable plug that reportedly leaks also (international has a service kit)

also check your high pressure rail plugs. make sure its oil and not fuel too. the water drain on the back of the filter housing will commonly leak fuel
