Need Help

Hi,
I just joined to try and get some answers. I currently have a 2000 F150 and am looking at a 2006 F350 with the 6.0 powerstroke. I have heard mixed reviews about the motor and an kinda hesitant to get one. What are your experiences or opinions on it. Is there a better motor then the 6.0?
Thanks for the help
CJ

Well welcome . The 06 and 07 6.0 have the least problems of any of the 6.0s and I have been told the least amount of warranty claims of any year Superduty . That being said , go to the dealer with the vin and get an Oasis report . Plan on an egr delete and flushing and replacing the coolant with elc . There is a few other things you can / should do but I am not a 6.0 expert . Someone else will chime in on that . Good luck with the purchase . Just do a little home work (as you have started here)

what do you mean by an egr delete. I am pretty mechanically inclined but have never owned or worked on a diesel before.

The egr system caused some of the problems these trucks had . If you get a delete kit for it you will be better off . It is just a kit that removes the egr system . Do a search on here and you will find countless posts .
