engine swap

I have a 08 powerstroke I have spent a lot of money on extras but i really have the itch to do an engine swap I know all about the 5.9 cummins swap and what can be done. what I want to do is put a Detroit or a Caterpillar engine in this something with a jake brake in it does anyone have any ideas? 6v53t or an 8v53t or some sort of cat engine i just want to be different!! I want to head off a mountain and have that straight exhaust bellowing out like a big truck with the jake brake singing out!!! any ideas? thanks clay!

First I would like to thank you for not being like every other DB and wanting to swap a 5.9, been there done that.

1) DT 466 (cool cause its still international)

2) 3126 Cat (cool cause its still HEUI)

Most things with a real jake brake are too big to fit in a superduty. But a 2 stroke detroit would be pretty BA!

3126 or the C7, basically same engine, just different emission standards. But, I see a few problems. One being the added weight of these engines, second would be compartment room, and then there's the tranny issue. I'd prefer a 9 or 10 speed to take advantage of the power and torque curves.
There's also emissions that you'd have to meet. If I remember right, since you have a 08 MY truck, any swap you do would have to meet those emission standards.
Otherwise, I'd love to see a Cat in a ford!
Oh, and if you have a C7 with a Jake in it, that Jake would hit REALLY hard in that light if a truck... Might throw you into the steering wheel, unless you were towing a heavy load

About five years ago we got past by a F-350 charging uphill with a trailer with two Bobcats on it that I would have sworn was a Greyhound bus before I looked up to see it wasn't so I don't know what he had in his truck but I do know it was not a Powerstroke.

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust system, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

It'd be a tight fit for a C7, let alone anything bigger.

If you do swap in a Cat or Detroit I would love to see the truck and know how it performs.
