Hard to start when cold
My 06 F250 diesel is starting to take longer and longer to start when cold. Maybe its just me but it turns over for about 7 seconds or longer before it starts. I have been turning it over in 3 second increments. A friend said it may be the oil pump going out because it doesnt have any problems starting when its hot. He said it sounds like its having to build up enough oil pressure to start it. Can somoene please school me on the oil pressure and injecters. If for some reason it is a oil pump, is this something i can change out myself ?

i would start by individually load testing the batteries and them checking ficm voltage.
