Need responses on Cat 3160

A friend of mine is looking at a 31 Bertram sport fisher and it has twin Cat 3160's marine series. The boat has been sitting for a few years and needs some TLC. My dad and I are going to go down and check out the engines and make sure they are in good condition. What I need is responses on this engine. Are they good for marine applications? Parts available? Are there any parts that are prone to breaking? I'm many interested about part availability.

Well I just figured out that the 3160 is the same as a 3208 just got renamed to 3208 in 74'.
