Which engine to get?

I am looking for a new truck and I don't really want the 7.3 even though it is considered the best engine. Between the 6.0 and the 6.4 which engine is better? I am more interested in which engine is better after the 6.0 has the egr delete and headstuds and the 6.4 has the dpf/egr delete?

I've been down this road several times. I running the 6.0 (28k)due to the price of the truck and what I could get the best deal on. Our local diesel performance shop has the best results w/the 6.4 having the mods you plan on doing. They see consistent 20+mpg and great reliability. My 6.0 does 20+ plus hwy and I love the power w/stock programming. If price does not matter I like what my friends have done and what I have seen w/the 6.4. There will be less of a cost in mods to the 6.4 too.

you can get the 6.4 over 500hp pretty easy compared to the 6.0. Just DPF delete and tuner will get you there. and while 6.4 has had some issues they arent near the 6.0 problems form what I have seen/heard. Really depends on what you are looking for when you say 'better' but tbh whether its power or longevity i would probably assume the 6.4 either way
