06 Ford 6.0 lariat

so im in dire need of a new truck, and i can get approved for a 2006 Ford F350 6.0 crew cab long bed powerstroke. i know next to nothing about this truck, im a diesel junky, i love the powerstroke engine, but my dad has a 7.3l right now, and im not sure whether or not to try and get the 6.0l. i have read so many horror stories about them, and im not making enough right now to replace a tranny or block right now. i plan to make mods, but they would be slowly added on as time goes on. should i try and get the 6.0?

get an oasis from the dealer to see if it was a problem child, and get rid of the ford gold coolant for an ELC, EGR delete would be prefered but not mandatory if you stay untuned.

Don't be afraid of the 6.0, just get an OASIS like the above posts states, and keep some money set aside for things. Maintenance is key on the 6.0, and its not cheap for the most part
