Question about new diesel exhaust

Please dont hose me, I already perfromed several seaches and cant find an answer.

The fire department I work for is trying to figure out if they need to place aftermarket diesel filters on newer (2010-2011) diesels on F550s? We use aftermarket filters on all our diesels to prevent inhalation of diesel exhaust.

My understanding is that newer diesels meet very stringent diesel exhaust for environmental regs. Those are not important for us though, we are more concerned with OSHA recommendations about diesel exhaust.

Does anyone know who, other than a ford service person, would know this information?
