Whats the story on black smoke

Hi all,

I am new to diesels so bear with me on this one. Why does everyone seem to want to blow black smoke? Doesn't that mean unburnt fuel(waste)? Just wanted to check to see if is just a display thing, 'cause there are times when I wish I could blow a nice cloud into an open car window next to me

You are correct about the un-burnt fuel. Some custom tuners dump a little extra fuel at low RPM's to help with the turbo lag, but most clear up once the turbo starts making boost. Quadzilla's claim to fame is power with out any smoke, some guys make smoke files that have you looking like a freight train! I have one of those files, but rarely use it. Yes it is nice to "roll some coal" on an annoying hybrid driver.

can u put some coustom burn tunes on a 6 pos.?

Yes you can. But you will have to replace one of the tunes that is already on the 6 pos.

You will also have to send your chip to someone with a programmer.

well I thought that you could just wondering how much more smoke they can get me than what it comes with...... guess I am just saying some kind of smoke tune.. just for I can really piss people off.... I do it any ways but I am just lookin around...

I'm still not sure about the whole smoke thing. I'm afraid down here in Houston I would piss someone off and they would shoot me.

LOL...... don't think that someone would shoot you over it.... but I guess you never know.... I love blowin smoke.... makes my day alot of times just bein able to blow smoe smoke of some a hole that is following you too close

I don't have any "look at me". I'll buy some soon. I'll go with the DP Look at me. However, I don't want people to "Laugh at me" when my trans fails from too much look at me.
