2006 F350 dually 6.0

I am considering the purchase of a 2006 F350 6.0 powerstroke dually. I do not know much about these engines. I will be towing an 18 foot open car trailer with a 3,220 lb car on it. The terrain will be mixed from Huntsville AL to Phoenix AZ, then later into Colorado and Wyoming. I owned a 2001 7.3 dually at one time and loved it. I routinely pulled 25-35,000 lbs with it with no trouble. I have heard alot of negatives about the 6.0. What kind of performance can I look forward to? What kinds of mods need to be done to these engines? I am not looking for high performance just a nice pull trough the mountains.
