FICM issues?
Hello. I have an '03 F250 6.0 and have run into problems. I have been told it is more than likely the FICM. I plan on testing it when I get home. I started losing power and the truck began to barely idle. It got to the point where it would not move on flat ground. The symptoms started out the same way as when my truck was vandalized when someone put garbage in my fuel tank. At that time I was towing and it started sputtering then barely running. Turns out the pickup tube was blocked and the strainer was off. So one fuel pump and four injectors later I was back on the road but starting to get the same symptoms. It ran fine the other night after a day of not running but then this morning it wouldn't move.
I want to do as much work as I can by myself. I have read a couple of repair articles and thought about sending the FICM in to get repaired if that is the case because I don't trust my soldering skills. I was told if it was repaired it would not need reprogramming. If I wind up buying one, would a handheld tuner do enough reporgramming to satisfy the need or does it still need to go to the dealer. Also, anyway to tell from my garage, not a dealer, if the injectors are bad? Thanks
