6.4 tach wire

Has anyone found the tach wire on the 6.4 for a remote start yet

You shouldnt need the tach wire if your remote start has the delay built into the unit. I can set mine at 5-10-15 or 20 second dealay before it will start.

Sorry about that give you bad advice I was thinking about somthing else the wait to start wire the tach wire is for disengaging the starter once it has started. I will see what I can find for a tach wire.

Hey bud yeh there is no setting for delay on this unit it starts great
it just shuts down after 10 secs. it recognizes voltage an 1 volt increase after starting alt. will not increase voltage within that time.
and the tach wire is supposed to let the remote brain know when truck is running to par.

No luck on my end but the 2002-2006's the tach wire is the green/white wire located in a 5 pin harness held up by tape behind the parking brake release. Cant say for sure the 6.4 will be the same?

After some searching its no longer a green/white but the blue wire now

Also if that doesn't work you can try this I guess alot of installers use this on ford powerstrokes. 454T Alternator RPM Monitor / Tach Signal Generator

Oh and sorry the blue wire is under the dash at what is called "the customer access point" there is a harness (a big one) with wire's taped up to it. Just like the older Fords. It's a blue wire. It's just there and is connected to nothing. I found this on a electronics installer forum so don't kill the messenger!
