starting problem-6.0

I have a 2004 F-350 with the 6.0. It wouldn't start one morning no matter what I did. I ran the glow plugs several times. That evening when it was warmer it started right up. I've personally never liked the way this powerstroke starts compared to the 7.3 trucks I've owned. It comes up coughing a little and takes about 2 or 3 seconds to sound right. I changed the crank sensor, No help. I changed the glow plug relay, No help. How can I check the glow plugs. What OHM,s resistance should I get. Oh and if I plug it up like it's winter it starts every morning.
Any help sure is appreciated. I wouldn't ask a Ford dealer what time it was if my watch was broke and I was afraid I was late. One more thing. It has failed to start now about 6 times over one month.
Danny

Hopefully someone with experience with this will come along shortly or one of the several techs on the forum will know it off the top of their heads...

Just wanted to welcome you and hope someone here is able to help you out...
