Quicktricks!
Yet another satisfied customer of Vivian. Ordered the Looney Tune from her this morning. Took a while to get my SCT X3 updated. Just purchased it from a guy on the forum here.
Opened the box and pulled it out. I was excited. But first things first. Step one: Download the updater software (that went fine). Step two: Download and install the firmware update(that went fine). Step three: Download and run the tuner revision software(that did not go fine) I immediately went F*&k! x's 3 (Then a five minute rant with the neighbor. Meanwhile the neighborhood children all looked around and some even started to cry.lol) Seeing how it is a Saturday, SCT's technical support lines are closed. I then proceeded to search the web for two hours looking for a clue as to what happened. I stumbled across the solution (I think). The error I was receiving stated something to the fact of SYSTEMERROR: BULK FILE blah blah blah. So if anyone that has purchased a used SCT tuner product this fix is simple. Step one: Pull up the device updater via the desktop icon. Step two: Plug in tuner via usb cable. ***Step three: Hold ALT CTRL F (simultaneously) You will then be asked if you wish to format device (twice); press OK. Step four: Reinstall both the updated firmware and tuner revision software. Step five: Load your custom tune. *** If you do this you need to ensure you back up you tune files BEFORE you format or they will be erased and lost. I hope that this atleast helps one person.Have fun and enjoy. I know I did. Last edited by ROSSW; 02-22-2011 at 01:24 PM. |
